Seagrass is a grass that is hand twisted into cord. It can be used instead of rush on chair seats. Seagrass can also be used in basketweaving in combination with other materials or by itself for a "soft weave" look. It makes a great decorative accent. It is also popular with Gourd artists. Greenish in color, the width varies within the cord. All weights are approximate.

Loose Seagrass
Also known as seagrass stems, this is the material from which twisted seagrass cordage is made. It is ideal for use as a coiling core or for twining into a basket.
